From your iPhone:
- First, launch the
Settingsapp. - Then, tap the
Generalrow. - Then, tap the
Aboutrow.
You'll be navigated to a sub-page that allows you to edit the device's Name.
Extract Full / Verbose Values #
To view full details for the following, tap on the respective row in the table:
- Software Version
- Model Number
The rest of the properties do not expose additional information.

Identify the Generation Number of my iPhone #
After following the steps above (from Settings > General > About), you'll see the Model Number.
After tapping on the value next to the Model Number, additional verbose details will appear that will indicate the device's Generation Number.
